Automist personal protection system (PPS)
Automist personal protection system (PPS) is a fire suppression system designed to help the most vulnerable people. It is easy to install and can be a key point in managing individual fire risks.
The Automist PPS system has a self- contained water tank and is connected to an auto dialler to notify up to 4 pre- programmed contacts of any activation. A PPS system when activated will run for 12 minutes and has sufficient standby batteries to enable this to run in the event of mains power failure.
Once the system is installed it can be easily hidden and not look out of place by simply placing a decretive radiator cover over the equipment.
A typical application would be to protect a vulnerable person who spends the majority of their time in either a bed or a chair and because of metal and or physical health issues could be more prone to starting fires accidently and/or would be unable to escape quickly.
Automist PPS looks to detect and suppress the fire at an early stage before significant heat and smoke has developed and therefore before serious injury can occur. It is recommended that it is deployed as part of a package of measures designed to reduce the fire risk to a vulnerable person.
